He emphasized Virat's captaincy and said that the presence of Rohit Sharma and Mahendra Singh Dhoni in the team shows the impact of Kohli's captaincy.

He also said that the true test of your captaincy only happens if you are leading a franchise where you have no other experienced players to support you.  Gautam Gambhir spoke at a university program.

Former Indian cricket team captain Gautam Gambhir said that Virat Kohli had a good captaincy in the previous World Cup,

But they still have a long way to go.  He is a good captain in international matches, but the reason is that his team has Rohit Sharma and Mahendra Singh Dhoni.

The real test of a captainship comes when you lead the franchise because you have no other experienced players to support.

Gautam Gambhir said that I have always said this honestly.  Just look at what Rohit Sharma has achieved for Mumbai Indians and Mahendra Singh Dhoni for Chennai Superkings.  If you compare it to Royal Challengers Bangalore, then the results are in front of you all.

Recalling Team India's disappointing performance at the 2007 One World Cup, Gautam Gambhir said the World Cup for India in the West Indies was very disappointing.  The team was eliminated from the group stage.  However, the same year the team named the T20 World Cup under the leadership of Mahendra Singh Dhoni.  Gautam Gambhir scored the most runs in that tournament.  Gambhir said that I was disappointed when the 2007 One World Cup squad was not selected.  I felt like I had to be on the team.  After this I was selected in the T20 World Cup squad and in the first match against Pakistan I was dismissed without opening an account.  After that I ended the tournament with the most runs.

Gautam Gambhir revealed that I wanted to face Australian leg-spinner Shane Warne in international cricket. He said that I have faced him only in IPL, but it was not so difficult. I wished I could face Shane Warne in international cricket.
